WEST BANK, Sept. 4, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — The Vulnerable People Project (VPP) is pleased to announce the launch of The West Bank Solidarity Project – which will provide a weekly overview of American Catholic media coverage of the plight of the Church in the Holy Land.

Every Friday, The West Bank Solidarity Project will report which of the top 10 Catholic news publications in the United States have stood with the Body of Christ where it is under attack – in the West Bank. We will note which publications did not cover the issue, which publications did cover it, and which publications offered potentially misleading coverage.

As a bonus, we will also include three top Protestant publications.

The inaugural report, covering Aug. 28 through Sept. 3, reviewed 13 publications and found:

● Five outlets covered the subject without materially misleading framing.

● Four outlets published coverage that could be misleading.

● Four outlets had no qualifying coverage that VPP could find.

Each weekly review evaluates what an outlet actually placed before its audience. Coverage may be classified as potentially misleading when false equivalence, euphemistic or actorless language, unsupported official framing, or a serious omission could prevent a reader unfamiliar with the issue from understanding the asymmetric harm facing Palestinian Christians.

All are encouraged to follow this report. The Project also encourages readers and subscribers to the publications on the list to contact newsrooms and editors about the findings. Readers can congratulate and thank those who stand with the Church in her hour of need, charitably call on those who have not yet taken up the cause to do so, and exhort editors and reporters to be attentive to the cries of the Palestinian Church – especially at publications where, perhaps through ignorance or under pressure from bad actors, stories risk misleading readers or obscuring the truth.

Read the inaugural report and subscribe to ensure that you never miss an edition of The West Bank Solidarity Project
