WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis.,Dec. 22, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — Voyage Comics, in partnership with Holy Water Books, has released Fear Nothing: The Heroic Life of Aloysius Schwartz, the world’s first comic book depicting the extraordinary life and legacy of Father Al Schwartz, a fearless missionary priest whose heroic service to the poor transformed the lives of tens of thousands of children around the world.
“Father Al” (1930–1992), lived a life marked by courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith. As a young boy, he was inspired by the DC Comics Boy Commandos series—stories of bravery and self-sacrifice that planted the seed for what would become a profoundly heroic vocation. Answering God’s call, Father Al discerned a unique path as a poor missionary priest, ultimately founding orphanages in South Korea, the Philippines, and Mexico. His work laid the foundation for what is now known as World Villages for Children, a global organization dedicated to serving the poorest of the poor.
The comic book project was brought to Voyage Comics by award-winning journalist and bestselling author Kevin Wells, whose acclaimed book Priest and Beggar: The Heroic Life of Venerable Aloysius Schwartz served as the primary inspiration for the adaptation.
Voyage Comics CEO and founder Philip Kosloski shared, “The Voyage team was thrilled when Kevin approached us with this project. This was a close collaboration—Kevin’s work on Father Al deeply inspired us, and the more we learned about his life, the more committed we became to bringing his story to life in a powerful and authentic way.”
Wells added, “Working with Voyage Comics has been a wonderful experience. After writing The Heroic Life, I wanted to bring the story of Father Al to the widest possible audience and across age groups. His life and service to Christ have had a deeply personal impact on me, and this comic book offers a new way for readers to encounter his heroism.”
In keeping with Father Al’s mission, Voyage Comics and Holy Water Books will donate 26% of the proceeds from every purchase of the comic book to World Villages for Children, directly supporting the ongoing work of the Sisters of Mary and the charitable institutions Father Al founded.
