ATLANTA, Sept. 28, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — Growth Mindset Collaborative Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Dr. Michelle Ihrig, is expanding access to free and affordable PSAT/SAT preparation with a free 220+ page program, a newly created Faith Version, and a partnership program designed to support church youth ministries.

Two million students in the Class of 2025 took the SAT. College Board data shows a 264-point average score gap between students in the lowest and highest family-income quintiles. Just 16% of students in the lowest-income group met both College Board benchmarks for college readiness in reading/writing and math, compared with 63% in the highest-income group.

That gap is what Growth Mindset Collaborative aims to address. After more than 20 years teaching SAT preparation, Dr. Ihrig created a free program to help students strategically use high-quality resources already available at no cost. During the first full year of implementation, more than 200 students at her Title I high school participated in the program, and the school’s mean SAT score increased by more than 70 points.

“There are excellent free resources available, but students often don’t know how to use them strategically,” says Dr. Ihrig. “Our free program teaches students to strategically use Khan Academy, Schoolhouse.world, Bluebook, and the built-in Desmos calculator to reach the SAT benchmarks.”

Growth Mindset Collaborative has also introduced a PSAT/SAT Prep Faith Version, which incorporates short “Getting Centered” devotionals at the beginning of each topic. Each includes Scripture, a guiding thought, and a brief prayer.

“The goal is to give students one or two minutes to separate from the distractions of their day, focus on God, and prepare their minds and hearts for studying,” Dr. Ihrig explains.

Churches can participate in Growth Mindset Collaborative’s partnership program at no cost. Through the program, congregations can offer the complete Faith Version to families for $79, with $40 from each purchase returned directly to the church for its youth ministry. Of the remaining amount, $20 supports Growth Mindset Collaborative’s youth-focused nonprofit initiatives and $19 covers program costs.

“Our nonprofit is mission first,” says Dr. Ihrig. “The goal is to make strong academic resources accessible while creating a simple way for churches to support the young people in their own communities.”
