SCAPPOOSE, Ore., July 1, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — Talk about wisdom is uncommon in our day. In our Western culture, there is more concern for achievement that adds to our identity and feelings of worth. But God’s concern for our lives is very different. He shows us that we must walk in wisdom if we are to flourish in this world. In the olden days of the kings and prophets of Israel, wisdom was very much alive and served those who owned it, guiding kings and servants alike. Though there were many fools and mockers, those who embraced Lady Wisdom to know God’s way knew his blessing; they were at ease and without fear as they trusted him. Today, however, deep in the dusty pages of the Old Testament, wisdom sleeps; it waits to be awakened once again and to display God’s design for our lives. The Ancient Code of Biblical Wisdom unlocks our understanding of God’s purpose and desire for us on our journey in this life. These ancient texts are meant to connect intimately with the new wisdom, freedom, and grace we have in Christ. But even as his children, we have a great deal to learn of his design for us if we desire a flourishing life in the wilderness of our broken world. Our halting and teetering walk has yet to become a graceful dance reflecting God’s wisdom.

What People are saying about this book:

“Few writers have both the cross-cultural experience and the theological depth to bridge the ancient wisdom tradition of Scripture and the realities of modern Western life. Stallter does exactly that, showing how the fear of the Lord and the grace of Christ are not in tension but are the very foundation of a life that flourishes. I am grateful for this book and the voice behind it.”

–Mark Pohl, Vice President of Enrollment, Grace College

“Navigating the middle way between grace-starved legalism and truth-abandoning sentimentalism, this rigorous yet pastorally accessible work recalls the church, clergy and laity alike, to the formational path of biblical wisdom for contemporary praxis.”

–Ronen H. Kim, Senior Pastor, Faith, Hope, and Love Evangelical Church, Madrid, Spain

“Tom Stallter calls us to maturity, not by way of rules, but by embarking on the path of wisdom. . . . Wisdom and discernment, qualities tragically lacking in our self-assertive society, reveal to us–imperfect disciples en route toward Christ-likeness–the Bible’s middle way of grace-and-truth.”

–Paul Klawitter, Senior Director of Missional Equipping, Encompass World Partners

“Thomas Stallter’s The Ancient Code of Biblical Wisdom should be required reading for every cross-cultural team. . . . He compellingly demonstrates that God’s ways are not our ways–and certainly not merely American ways–offering a transformative path toward true wisdom, humility, and effective ministry together.”

–Gary McCaman, Cross-Cultural Trainer, Encompass World Partners

“This insightful book provides believers and scholars with a transformative, grace-filled framework for navigating relationships and seeing Scripture with cultural insight through the lens of the original readers.”

–Kevin W. Roberts, Provost, Grace College
