FINCASTLE, Va., Sept. 23, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — In 2012, local author Cathy D. Dudley paired two unlikely words and coined the phrase “Toddler Theology”, which became the title of her first book. This catchy word duo attracts attention to the book’s gospel message for little people.
Dudley says she feels complimented that her unique toddler theology phrase is now appearing on the covers of other Christian books for children. However, she clarifies, “I truly believe God is sharing His story in a different way through me. It’s a way that creatively introduces Jesus as the Savior of the world, making it easy for children to understand how much He loves them.”
Throughout the book’s 24 pages, Jesus talks in a first-person narrative. He simplifies theology by using concepts children can identify with, especially when He explains the really special job God gave Him at the cross.
This is not your ordinary children’s religious book. Dr. Fred Eichelman, author and educator, says, “It is, in my opinion, one of the best children’s books on Christian faith ever written. Though written for children, the author follows the tradition of C.S. Lewis who believed good children’s books should be enjoyable for adults too.” Dudley says her subtitle, “Childlike Faith for Everyone,” agrees with Eichelman’s perspective.
Winner of a Purple Dragonfly book award, “Toddler Theology – Childlike Faith for Everyone” (ISBN 978-0-692-12639-4) retails for $12.99 and is available in paperback wherever good books are sold.
