COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., July 10, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — On Saturday, August 15, churches and believers from across the Pikes Peak region will gather in downtown Colorado Springs for Baptize COS, a citywide event centered on one message: Jesus Christ and the gospel.
The evening will begin with the Tejon Procession, a peaceful march of worshippers walking together through downtown before concluding at Acacia Park, where the gospel will be preached and believers will publicly declare their faith through baptism.
“I believe that Colorado Springs is at a tipping point,” said Pastor Nick Yaksich of The Jesus Church of Colorado Springs, organizer of Baptize COS. “For too long, the Church has shrank back from her role in our city. But I believe Baptize COS has the opportunity to help transform this city and unite the churches.”
Unlike many public gatherings centered on politics or ideology, Baptize COS seeks to unite Christians under a single banner.
“The Church will gather under a simple banner—not the banner of politics, but under the banner of Jesus Christ and the gospel,” Yaksich said. “We’ve been given the greatest news in the world: God so loved the world that He took on flesh, bore our sins, laid down His life, conquered death, rose from the grave, ascended into heaven, and all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. That good news has been entrusted to the Church, and our desire is to proclaim it boldly throughout Colorado Springs.”
Organizers expect hundreds of Christians representing churches from across the Pikes Peak region to participate in worship, the public proclamation of the gospel, and baptisms throughout the evening. The event is designed to demonstrate Christian unity while inviting anyone who has not yet placed their faith in Christ to hear the gospel and respond.
Community members are invited to attend, participate in the Tejon Procession, or be baptized as a public declaration of their faith in Jesus Christ.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to register at baptizecos.com.
