WASHINGTON, Sept. 10, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — The group will be on the southeastern corner of the US Capitol steps on Friday, September 11, at 11:00 AM. That is the House of Representative’s side.

They will be displaying banners and signs saying things such as; “9/11 God Protect America!” and “9/11 Never Forget! Honor Our Heroes!”

The leaders will be praying for those who lost family and loved ones, remembering those who lost their lives, honoring those who sacrificed their lives for others, and praying for God to protect and heal our nation.

This will be the only 9/11 prayer vigil and public witness on the steps of the United States Capitol.

Alexei Laushkin, Founder of Kingdom Mission Society, comments:

“A quarter-century after September 11th, the truest tribute we can pay to those we lost is to cultivate a public life marked by virtue, moral courage, and civic righteousness.

“We gather on the steps of the United States Capitol in solemn prayer to ask God to heal our national bitterness, strengthen our communities, renew our commitment to those who lost loved ones, and restore a shared moral imagination.

“On this day, we remember that the long term work of supporting the first responders from that day is never finished. In a culture tempted by cynicism, let our witness today be a pledge to protect the vulnerable, support these heroes, and steward the gift of freedom under Almighty God.”

Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Washington, DC based Christian Defense Coalition, states:

“It is hard to grasp that 25 years have passed since the 9/11 attacks on America. On this solemn day, we gather on the steps of the United States Capitol to honor and remember the 2,977 innocent victims who lost their lives.

“We pray for all for those who lost family and loved ones during these horrific attacks. We honor and remember all the heroes who sacrificed lives attempting to save others as we echo the words of President George W. Bush; ‘One of the worst days in America’s history saw some of the bravest acts in Americans’ history. We’ll always honor the heroes of 9/11…We pledge that we will never forget their sacrifice.’

“Today, our nation must purpose in our hearts never to forget the extraordinary courage shown that day as we commit our lives to follow in the steps of these heroes.

“Finally, we turn to God in pray as we ask him to protect America, guide our leaders and bring healing to a divided nation. Psalm 46:1-2—‘ God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea…’”
