TACOMA, Wash., April 10, 2026 /Standard Newswire/ — American Faith Academy (AFA) today opened enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year, marking the launch of the first online Christ-centered classical school that utilizes adaptive learning rooted in the Socratic method, anchored to a Christian conservative worldview.
Serving Christian families and students nationwide, the academy offers a flexible model designed to cultivate wisdom, virtue, and confident, independent learners. The school combines classical pedagogy, personalized learning, and a structure that supports both families and local communities.
“We didn’t set out to reinvent education, but to make what works more accessible. American Faith Academy is rooted in truth and proven teaching, and uses technology thoughtfully to meet students where they are and equip them with the tools and confidence to soar,” said Jennifer Burns, president of Excelara, whose platform supports the online academy and a growing network of hybrid schools nationwide. “This model equips students to succeed academically — to think clearly, communicate confidently, and live grounded in truth.”
After a successful pilot year with a cohort of pioneering schools and families, students demonstrated measurable academic growth and increased confidence in learning. In one implementation, all participating students achieved gains in math and improved their MAP Growth assessment scores.
American Faith Academy is built on a time-tested foundation for forming both the mind and the heart. A consistent biblical worldview grounds students in truth. Classical pedagogy cultivates intellectual curiosity, a love of learning, and a sense of purpose that extends beyond the classroom. Complementing these proven methods, the school thoughtfully integrates AI-powered adaptive technology based upon research demonstrating that personalized instruction and one-to-one tutoring can dramatically accelerate student learning. The model is also designed to preserve time for what matters most: the daily influence of parents and siblings, meaningful family rhythms, and the formation that happens beyond formal instruction.
“I’ve seen such academic growth and confidence in my son,” said one Nevada parent. “He was so far behind, and after only a few months he is nearly at grade level in math. He actually likes school now. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.”
American Faith Academy’s Christ-centered online program partners with families to provide a rigorous, classical education at home. Core subjects such as math and language arts are student-paced, allowing each child to begin at their level and progress accordingly, while other subjects follow a shared rhythm fostering connection and community. For families who desire in-person interaction, students may also participate in a hybrid school within the Excelara Network, where available.
To expand access, the academy has partnered with SchoolChoiceUSA.org to help families navigate Educational Savings Accounts (ESAs) and other funding opportunities. In many states, these programs can be used to support online education.
Enrollment is now open for the academic year beginning August 24, 2026. The Summer SOAR program runs June 1 through August 31, designed to help students strengthen core skills ahead of the fall term. AFA is also offering a free “Celebrating America 250” unit study for any K–12 student in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
