"In a mainstream media with a mad crush on the messiah in the White House, none can come close to matching the adoration of The New York Times," the boycottnyt.com editor writes.
Feder contends that the Obama administration's plans to regulate executive pay -- which The Times treats matter-of-factly -- amount to a "radical move toward socialism." Says Feder, "The New York Times has been losing money and subscribers for years... due in part to the decisions of its editors. In fairness to Times' shareholders, isn't it time to regulate their salaries too?"
Feder is also critical of The New York Times' "worshipful" coverage of President Obama's May 24 press conference, reporting that the paper, in what sounded more like a press release than a news story, claimed Obama has gone from a "fiery and inspirational speaker" who "warmly engaged Americans" and made a "jaunty, jokey" appearance on Jay Leno, to Barack the "professor in chief."
Despite what he calls The Times' efforts to "put a smiley face on a disaster in the making," the public, in growing numbers, is expressing disapproval with Obama's $3.6 trillion budget as well as his stimulus spending.
Feder concludes, "Overall, The New York Times' relationship with Barack Obama is similar to a famous intern's connection to former President Clinton -- minus the stained dress."
