WASHINGTON, Feb. 14, 2018 /Standard Newswire/ -- The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) and Ohio-based Life Issues Institute (LII) have merged, the groups officially announced today. The partnership expands SBA List's reach to the pro-life grassroots and amplifies Life Issues Institute's educational messages.

"The addition of Life Issues Institute to our family of organizations is a blessing to both entities and a fresh opportunity for our shared mission of protecting unborn children and their mothers from abortion. For decades the Life Issue Institute, under the late Dr. Jack Willke, served as a lead educator on issues of ethics, medicine, and culture for the pro-life movement," said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. "We are honored to take on the Willke legacy and to now work with Brad and the Life Issues team to reach the growing pro-life American majority at a time of great legislative and political activism."

"Since co-founding Life Issues Institute with Dr. Willke in 1991, time has only multiplied the challenging topics on which we need to engage and educate pro-life Americans, including abortion, assisted suicide, stem cell research, genetic engineering, cloning, and more," said Brad Mattes, president of Life Issues Institute, the new pro-life grassroots education partner of the SBA List Education Fund. "We are excited to join the SBA List team to further inform the existing pro-life network and bring the pro-life message to new audiences. By synchronizing our efforts, we can deliver information in more formats and move hearts and minds – to both reflection and action."

SBA List is the political and legislative leader of the pro-life movement in Washington, D.C., involved in key national races in targeted states using proven campaign techniques. Life Issues Institute will join SBA List's efforts and use its existing communication platforms, including Life Issues Institute one-minute radio commentaries, Life Issues, and The Latest weekly online publication to further effectively communicate with the pro-life grassroots and the American public.

"This partnership will result in better and more timely information as pro-life voters go to the polls, as well as give grassroots men and women an avenue to influence lawmakers to be accountable to their pro-life promises," added Dannenfelser.

In 1991 Dr. John C. Willke and Brad Mattes founded Life Issues Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio to rejuvenate a nationwide pro-life educational awakening. LII was and still is dedicated to promoting and providing effective educational tools for the pro-life movement—with the goal of restoring a culture that values human life, both young and old, born and unborn.

Life Issues Institute is joining the SBA List family of organizations as the pro-life grassroots education partner of the SBA List Education Fund. The family also includes Susan B. Anthony List, the Charlotte Lozier Institute, Women Speak Out PAC, the SBA List Candidate Fund, and the SBA List National Pro-life Women's Caucus.
