DC Protest to Ask Pelosi to End Abortion Violence Against Women and Children

Contact: Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Christian Defense Coalition, 202-547-1735, 540-538-4741 cell

WASHINGTON, Jan. 2 /Standard Newswire/ -- The Christian Defense Coalition and other groups plan to hold a demonstration and vigil on Wednesday, January 3, at 9:30 A.M. at Trinity University in Washington, D.C., located at 125 Michigan Ave. NE.

The pro-life witness will be held while Speaker-elect Pelosi is attending a Mass to remember the children of Darfur and Katrina.

The Christian Defense Coalition will be praying that Ms. Pelosi will remember the 50,000,000 innocent lives that have been lost through abortion and that as the newly elected Speaker she will work to end the horror and barbarism of abortion.

The Coalition notes that Speaker-elect Pelosi strongly supports a pro-abortion position which promotes violence against women and children.

The Christian Defense Coalition will also be participating in other demonstrations concerning Ms. Pelosi including attendance at the "People's House Reception" Friday morning at the Cannon Office Building.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, states,

"We are joining with other pro-life groups to pray that Speaker-elect Pelosi will work for justice and help bring an end to the violence of abortion.  We applaud this special Mass being said to remember the children of Darfur and Katrina.  However, it is hypocritical and immoral for Ms. Pelosi to attend a mass remembering these innocent children and then as Speaker of the House support pro-abortion policies which promote violence and hatred toward innocent human life.

"Our witness at Trinity University will serve as physical reminder and remembrance of the 50,000,000 innocent children that have been brutalized through abortion."
