WASHINGTON, Oct. 12, 2016 /Standard Newswire/ -- Terence Lester is on a March Against Poverty. As the co-founder of Love Beyond Walls, Terence is working the non-profit's largest mission to date—a 648-mile march to Washington, D.C. to raise awareness for Americans living in poverty. Terence started the march on Aug. 20 in Atlanta, GA., at the same starting point as Martin Luther King, Jr.'s historic March On Washington. On Oct. 14, Terence will march into Washington, D.C. fulfilling his mission.

Today, Terence is just four days from completing his March and reaching the finish line--the MLK, Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C. Throughout his journey, he is documenting the stories of individuals facing the challenges of poverty. This story offers great visual content and insight into how local communities are addressing a national issue. Terence will conclude his March on Oct. 15 at 10:30 a.m. with a celebration at the MLK, Jr. Memorial, with a presentation about bringing a voice to an issue affecting 100 million Americans.

• 200 Americans have met with Terence as he marched through Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia

The March Against Poverty is the largest-scale mission to date for Love Beyond Walls. The non-profit serves 400-500 people each month through various missions (laundry room, mobile makeovers, food pantry).

Terence is the teaching pastor at several Atlanta-area churches and he is the 2016 recipient of the Southern Leadership Christian Conference's Social Activist award.
