Pro-life Youth Activists to Hold Public Witness and News Conference at Special Olympic Games Headquarters in Los Angeles

Contact: Rev. James Conrad, Survivors, 909-663-4849

LOS ANGELES, June 30, 2015 /Standard Newswire/ -- Group to call for Special Olympic Committee to support ban on all abortions of special need and disabled pre-born children.

Los Angeles will be home to the 2015 World Special Olympic Games this Summer.

75 leaders from around the nation to hold a news conference at 3:00 P.M. and then meet with Special Olympic officials.

The news conference will be on Tuesday, June 30, at 3:00 P.M. PST at 633 West 5th Street Los Angeles, CA  (US Bank Building.)

Activists will challenge the Special Olympic Committee to support disabled and special need children in the womb with the same commitment they support the athletes that compete in the games.

Megan Smith, Survivors Spokesperson and volunteer with the Special Olympics, states;

    "Targeting people with IDD in the womb is the exact opposite of what organizations like Special Olympics and Best Buddies stand for. People with disabilities deserve the right to life just as much as people without disabilities. Please stand up against the discrimination against preborn people with disabilities."

Carmen McAfee member of Survivors adds;

    "Julia, my adopted sister, has always been the light of my family. Her learning
     disabilities are nothing to her impact of love in my life."

Katie Young another Survivors member comments;

    "If my brother Michael had been prenatally diagnosed and aborted, we would have been robbed of 13 wonderful years watching him learn, grow, and beat the odds. His Autism does not make him less valuable."
