NORCROSS, Ga., Jan. 21, 2020 /Standard Newswire/ -- Chilly temperatures won't deter pro-life advocates from taking part in the annual Georgia March for Life Wednesday in downtown Atlanta.
Inspirational guest speaker will be Endia Bass, founder of "Out From Among them Ministries."
Sponsored by Georgia Right to Life (GRTL), the event will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a Memorial Service at Liberty Plaza for the more than 61 million innocent children lost to the tragedy of abortion. A silent, one-mile march through neighboring streets will follow.
GRTL President, Ricardo Davis, said the Memorial Service and March help focus public attention on the pro-life mission of ending abortion. "There's still a lot of work to be done in Georgia to protect every pre-born child, as well as the elderly and infirm."
As evidence, Davis noted that the number of abortions in Georgia in 2018--28,544--was over 1,000 more than the previous year. This was in contrast to the national average, which reportedly continues to decline.
Davis said the ultimate solution is to adopt a Personhood amendment to the state's constitution.
For Atlanta resident Samantha Harrell, who will be attending her first march, the event is an opportunity to live out her faith in God.
"You're most like Christ when you follow His commands to shepherd and assist the weak, the defenseless, the voiceless, and the poor," Harrell said. "I believe the Memorial Service and March help humanize that mission."
Georgia Right to Life promotes respect and effective legal protection for all innocent human life from earliest biological beginning through natural death. GRTL is one of a number of organizations that have adopted Personhood as the most effective pro-life strategy for the 21st century.
