VIENNA, Va., July 17, 2014 /Standard Newswire/ -- After the historic and the successful three day visit of King Don Felipe of Spain and his wife Queen Letizia, the Spanish Monarch left Morocco. The visit was remarkable and contributed to further strengthening the Moroccan-Spanish bilateral relationship.
This visit was commemorated by many activities and inaugurations by King Mohammed VI and King Felipe. The two monarchs inaugurated on Tuesday July 16th, 20014 a hotel and tourism training center in the "Guich Loudaya district" in Temara, suburb of Rabat.
This project which cost 18 Million Dirhams (Just over $2,000,000), which was carried out by The Mohamed Vi Foundation, reflects the special attention the Moroccan Monarch gives to the youth in Morocco, the youth which will carry the torch and serve their country in the future. The youth in Morocco represent a large portion of the society, therefore the government constantly develops projects to enrich their activities and get them ready to be productive in the future.
This new center, which also reflects the Sovereign's determination to integrate this segment of society in the various reforms initiated in the Kingdom, confirms, once again, the choice of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity to make training a vital socio-professional integration tool.
This center, whose construction works were launched by HM King Mohammed VI on July 13th, 2013, will facilitate access to training for candidates from remote regions, especially girls, as it will provide support to young leaders of projects in the hotel and tourism business. It also consolidates the various actions taken by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in the region of Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer, aiming at developing the potential of the youth and improving their living conditions.
On a separate series of activities, HRH Princess Lalla Salma, chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, accompanied with Queen Letizia of Spain visited the Sheikha Fatma Centre for Gynecological-Mammary Oncology at the National Oncology Institute affiliated with the Ibn Sina University Hospital in Rabat. HRH Lalla Salma and Queen Letizia were given a tour in the facility and were provided with a presentation on the activities and services provided in the center.
This center is considered one of the top health facilities in terms of providing specialized health care for Gynecological-Mammary cancers in chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, he said, recalling that the center has a capacity of 30 beds. It was inaugurated in June 2013, and since then, the Sheikha Fatma Centre has received 2,600 cases and carried out 660 surgeries including 60% for breast cancer.
The royal social activities proved, yet again, the importance King Mohamed VI gives to strengthening social infrastructure and provide to his nation all the services they will require to benefit from a decent life as citizens of Morocco.
