NRB TV Adds Original New Kid's Show to Saturday Morning Children's Lineup

NASHVILLE, July 31, 2012 /Standard Newswire/ -- Dare to Be, an innovative new kid's show, joins NRB Network's robust Saturday morning children's block, starting this Sat., Aug. 4, at 9 a.m. Eastern.

Produced in HD, Dare to Be is a fast-paced, fun, and entertaining show featuring the same premium production values kids are accustomed to on network TV but without the questionable messages.

And it doesn't aim low.

"It's not goofy, it's not silly, there's no clowns or neon balloons, or silly puppet shows," says show host Lloyd M. Claycomb, president of show producer A Thoughtful Hour, Inc. "It's wholesome, it's educational, and it's all centered around the Bible, and it's all done via green screen studio."

Produced in Montana, the show features a cast of adults and kids, and includes science lessons, adventure, biblical re-enactments, interviews by kids of adults, and, in every episode, Bible lessons that teach honesty, obedience, humility, kindness, and character.

"We are very excited about our Dare to Be program being on the NRB Network," said Claycomb. "With the tremendous exposure that NRB has through DIRECTV and its strong viewership, we feel very fortunate that our show will be able to touch so many more lives."

Claycomb launched Dare to Be after finding himself increasingly disappointed by the TV fare available to his two young children.

"With the exception of just a small handful of Christian programming for kids, by and large the majority of what was available for our family to watch was of poor quality and/or questionable at best."

So he decided to do it better. "Our thought process was that we, as Christians, should produce shows that are every bit as high-quality as what the secular world is producing."

But making Dare to Be as interesting and fun as any other kid's show is not the ultimate goal. "We want to see kids worldwide come to know Jesus and his love for them personally," he said. "That has become our sole and driving passion in creating Dare to Be."

NRB Network shares that commitment. "Mainstream television constantly bombards kids with anti-Christian messages and images. It's important to us to give parents quality alternatives they can trust to reinforce the biblical values they want to instill in their children," said Troy A. Miller, NRB Network President and CEO.

NRB Network's strong Saturday morning kid's lineup is filled with shows that entertain and inspire, including the award-winning animated series Adventures in Odyssey; the fun wildlife series Animal Action; and Samuel L. Collins & The Search for Biblical Truth, which takes kids to exotic locations like Bali in pursuit of truth from God's Word. NRB Network airs on DIRECTV channel 378, on SkyAngel channel 181, via online video streaming at www.nrbnetwork.tv, and on select local affiliates.
