WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 /Standard Newswire/ -- The Christian Defense Coalition announces a news conference on Monday morning to discuss the importance of the Supreme Court with respect to the upcoming Presidential elections.

Why: To discuss the importance of the Supreme Court with respect to the upcoming Presidential elections. The groups will also be gathering for prayer on for the opening session of the Supreme Court.
The Christian Defense Coalition also announces an event called "The DC Awakening."
"The DC Awakening" will include the display of a 16-foot tall cross on the lawn of the United States Capitol building and a weeklong prayer vigil
Leaders of the "The DC Awakening" are following the example of President Lincoln when he called a "Day of National Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer" in the midst of the Civil War.
Part of President Lincoln's Proclamation said:
"Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us! "The DC Awakening" will take place from Sunday, October, 5 through Saturday, October 11 with the exception of Thursday as another group will be at the Capitol.
