PITTSBURGH, Nov. 27, 2023 /Standard Newswire/ -- Author Barry Kukovich turns his creative talents to Biblical fiction with the release of ‘The Return of the Magi,’ available on Amazon in time for the holiday season. The story follows Gaspar, one of the three magi present at the birth of Jesus, back to the Holy Land when he learns of Christ’s crucifixion and seeks to uncover its meaning.

“The Three Wise Men appear a single time in the Bible and only in the book of Matthew. They are given a mere twelve sentences,” explains Kukovich. “Yet they are fixed in popular culture among the most prominent and perennial Christian stories, along with the resurrection.”

These two events intertwine in ‘The Return of the Magi.’ The novel unfolds roughly a year after Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. “The term ‘Christian’ had not yet been coined,” Kukovich continues. “The Bible has yet to be written. There are no labels like ‘Good Friday’ or ‘Easter’ to define what has occurred. Gaspar is reliving his memory of Christ’s birth, thirty years past.” The novel weaves those memories into the chaos spilling out of Jerusalem, placing the reader into one of the greatest seminal events of Christianity.
