WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 /Standard Newswire/ -- In celebration of its 25th year, the Family Research Council has released twenty-five policy goals for the nation renewing its commitment to family, faith, and freedom. The goals will be distributed at both the Republican and Democratic Conventions.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins had this to say:
"In 2008, America will choose a new president and a new Congress, as well as governors and legislators across the country. 'Values voters' need a yardstick by which to measure the promises and policy proposals of all the candidates who seek their votes this year. The 25 Policy Goals for the Nation will serve as a blueprint for how those we elect can promote and protect the family and its values in 2009 and in the years to come.
"The twenty-five goals we put forth here are grouped into eight main subject areas, ranging from Human Life to Marriage and Family to Religious Liberty to Culture and Media. Each page features a brief analysis of the issue, followed by one or more specific policy proposals which can help America meet that individual goal. Some involve action by Congress, some by the president, and some by state legislators or executive officials. If you would like to learn even more about these issues, please visit our website at www.frc.org."
