LA MIRADA, Calif., Feb. 5, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — Pastors and ministry leaders are challenged to lead the way in the midst of today’s cultural climate of confusion, deconstruction, political division and mental health challenges. Dr. Ed Stetzer, renowned author, pastor and dean of the Biola University Talbot School of Theology, is embarking on a U.S. tour to address what fruitful church ministry looks like in this century. Complete with a Biola-branded sprinter van, the “Lead the Way” tour will take Stetzer to over 20 locations.

“I'm thrilled to be able to partner Talbot School of Theology with Barna and Gloo for the Lead the Way tour,” said Stetzer. “The tour will focus on key insights from the State of the Church initiative, applying those insights to leadership in the 21st century. I have often said, 'Facts are our friends,' and this new research will put data-driven facts onto the work we do at Talbot in preparing pastors and ministry leaders. It's such a great opportunity to connect Talbot alumni, faculty and future students to this data, empowering them to show and share the love of Jesus in a hurting world.”

Talbot School of Theology is partnering with Barna Group, one of the nation’s most comprehensive databases of spiritual indicators, and Gloo, a comprehensive digital communication and technology platform designed for faith-based organizations, to equip church leaders to provide effective ministry in today’s cultural climate.

The “Lead the Way” tour will focus on the following topics:

  • New “State of the Church” research from Barna and Gloo
  • Perspectives on how to do ministry in 2025 and beyond
  • Insights on how to think biblically about important cultural issues
  • Free resources for pastors and ministry leaders
  • Connection with other local pastors and ministry leaders, with opportunities to think strategically on reaching your community

California alone houses over 20,000 churches, and Stetzer with occasional special guest David Kinnaman, president of the Barna Group, are visiting a select few to start to scratch the surface. In such a large state, strong church leadership and integration is critical for the advancement of God’s Kingdom, and the Talbot School of Theology is eager to lead the way into the conversation.
