WASHINGTON, May 4 /Standard Newswire/ -- On the National Day of Prayer, a diverse coalition of Christian groups that joined forces to more effectively reach America's youth issued the following statement, urgently calling young people across America to pray and fast on the first Friday of every month beginning June 1, 2007:
"Recognizing the challenges facing America's youth, and the devastation that sexual immorality and moral relativism have had and are having on this generation of young people, we urge students to pursue sexual purity and to pray for their generation and for our nation (1 Cor 6:18). We the undersigned call upon students, Christian teachers and ministry leaders to join together on the first Friday of every month to pray and fast for our nation and for spiritual awakening among the youth of our nation (2 Chr 7:14)."
