Job Clubs and Career Ministries Showcased for Role in Getting Americans Back to Work Symposium

ATLANTA, Oct. 4, 2011 /Standard Newswire/ -- Crossroads Career® Network, a national community of churches providing faith-based, job search and career transition resources, will be speaking at the U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda L. Solis and Department of Labor's Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships' symposium on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Cascade United Methodist Church from 1-4pm.The symposium will focus on the important role that job clubs and career ministries play in getting Americans back to work.
Ministry leaders Valerie Y. Jones of Cascade Career Network and Katherine Simons of RUMC Job Network career ministries will join together with unemployed individuals to share important job search information, as well as provide spiritual support and encouragement. The Department of Labor's Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships launched a new project to connect with and facilitate partnerships between job clubs and the workforce investment system.

"Crossroads Career Network has partnered with churches since early 2000, but is now also expanding its member base to include other career ministries that will help Americans get back to work."
