ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 14, 2012 /Standard Newswire/ -- Universal Orlando Resort's Rock the Universe 2012 -- Florida's biggest Christian music festival -- will take place this Sept. 7 and 8. Guests will enjoy a faith-filled weekend featuring performances by top Christian music talent, inspirational stories from celebrity speakers, an expanded Coca-Cola Fan Zone, the ability to rock out to their favorite Rock the Universe artists at 65 mph on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and more.

This year's line-up features some of the most popular names in Christian rock. Sixteen hit bands will take the stage, including Skillet -- which was awarded a Billboard Music Award for "Top Christian Album" in 2011; four-time Grammy-nominated band Newsboys; rock group Switchfoot, which won a 2011 Grammy Award for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album; and eleven-time Dove award winner tobyMac. Guests this year will also enjoy an even bigger Fan Zone presented by Coca-Cola, including live music by up-and-coming acts Everfound, We As Human and Jason Castro, autograph sessions with the Fan Zone bands, karaoke and band merchandise. The event will close Saturday night with a candlelighting ceremony, featuring music from Tenth Avenue North.
