SUWANEE, Ga., Oct. 3, 2018 /Standard Newswire/ -- Living on the Edge, an international teaching and discipleship ministry, announced today that its founder, Chip Ingram, is moving into an exclusively focused role as CEO and Teaching Pastor at Living on the Edge. For the past nine years, Ingram has served as Senior Pastor at Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos, California, while simultaneously leading Living on the Edge.
"My wife, Theresa, and I founded Living on the Edge more than 20 years ago," said Ingram. "We could not have imagined all that God would do through the ministry. In recent years, some unique opportunities to reach people, especially pastors, all over the United States and in many other countries have grown exponentially."
In the last nine years, both Venture Christian Church and Living on the Edge have experienced steady growth. The continued demands and increased opportunities of these two kingdom-impacting ministries have reached a point that requires each ministry to have individual leadership to best support their full potential.
"It has become clear to Theresa and me that this exponential growth of Living on the Edge has aligned to God's specific call on my life," said Ingram. "Because of that, we believe the Lord is leading me to focus all my attention on Living on the Edge."
Dean Senner, Chairman of the Elder Board at Venture Christian Church, praised Ingram for his nine years of strong biblical teaching, vision, and leadership.
"As a church and as individuals we have grown spiritually and have expanded our ministry reach to our community, the nation, and the world. We have witnessed and affirm God's strong calling on Chip's life. We believe God has been preparing him for this season of ministry, and he is uniquely gifted to have a global impact for the Kingdom," he said. "We celebrate with Chip and Theresa as they answer God's call and move into this new chapter at Living on the Edge."
Gearl Spicer, Chairman of the Board at Living on the Edge, confirms that the miraculous growth the ministry has seen demands Ingram's entire focus.
"We at Living on the Edge are beyond excited for what God has planned for our growing ministry. God has clearly opened new doors for us to serve both pastors and the church in America, the Middle East and China," Spicer said. "We are thrilled to see Chip and Theresa living out God's call on their lives in this next season. Now more than ever, the team at Living on the Edge is fully committed to helping Christians live like Christians here and around the world. Great days await this ever-expanding ministry!"
Living on the Edge exists to help Christians live like Christians. The ministry was established in 1995 as a radio ministry of pastor and author Chip Ingram and has since grown into an international discipleship ministry. The ministry creates Biblical teaching and tools that challenge and equip spiritually hungry Christians to become mature disciples of Jesus.
The ultimate vision of Living on the Edge is to be a catalytic movement of Christians living out their faith in ways that transform families, churches, and communities for the common good and the glory of God.
