HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 3, 2018 /Standard Newswire/ -- "I've reached a point in my life where I have made a big decision." Marty Angelo explained to conservative radio talk show host, James Lowe.

Back in late March of 2018, Angelo began experiencing pain in his chest so he drove himself to the emergency room at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale Florida. It was there he was told he needed double bypass heart surgery.

All of a sudden Angelo's future was again totally in God's hands and those of a very experienced heart surgeon. "After successful surgery, the doctor told me I came through with flying colors"... he continued to explain to Lowe.  However, Angelo was also informed he experienced a brain bleed (slight stroke) during the bypass surgery.

"It has taken me much longer to recover from that slight stroke than the bypass surgery." It was during his month-long recovery time on the hospital's heart rehab floor that Angelo knew his plans needed to change if and when he was released from the hospital.

While spending the next couple of months slowly getting back on his feet while living with his cousin in Coral Springs Florida, Angelo decided to travel back to California to pray and contemplate what God's plan and purpose were for the rest of his life and ministry.

During this time Angelo made numerous attempts to reach out to President Donald Trump and his staff to share his highly successful evidence-based prison reform program he helped develop for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office back in 1991 that ran until 2010.

"Unfortunately, my attempts fell on deaf ears," Angelo continued to share with Lowe. "I understood that if no one in Washington DC was interested in my program that the ministry door God opened for me over 35 years ago was closing and I should leave whatever I achieved over the years alone. My legacy would prove itself in the long run. I decided to leave my ministry in God's hands for the next generation. My job helping to change troubled people's lives is over."

Marty Angelo informed Lowe of a quote from his friend, Jack 'Murph the Surf' Murphy (who also wrote the Foreword in his autobiography) that he wrote in his first book entitled, "Once Life Matters: A New Beginning" that:  "You go through doors God opens for you that is so wide that a freight train can go through them sideways"... Angelo realized not only was there no open door in Washington DC but whatever door was there was very tightly closed.

"The handwriting was on the wall," Angelo continued. "God has shown me to concentrate on my health and maybe write another book or two." Angelo has already written 10 books and has donated thousands of them to prisons, jails, and rehabs all over the country.

"It is hard to sit still after being so active all these years," he continued "but it is what it is."

Angelo has turned down many offers for radio, television and newspaper interviews and speaking engagements as he quietly continues his recovery.

Prior to his electrifying conversion to Christianity in 1981 Angelo worked in the entertainment business from 1965-1980.
