EUGENE, Ore., March 25, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ -- If the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, as Paul states in 1 Corinthians 6:19, is it possible that the temple/tabernacle of the Old Testament was designed as a human body to begin with?
This question led Jeffrey Weitzel on an in-depth study of the design aspects of the Tabernacle as described in Exodus 25-27. His conclusion was an emphatic “yes,” discovering design aspects from the ark, mercy seat, and altar all the way down to the curtains, showbread and covering of goat’s hair that will force us all to re-examine who we are as the body of Christ and leave no doubt as to God’s plans for sending Jesus to His people from the beginning.
Many have understood the ark as the heart of the tabernacles holy of holies, but how many have seen the cherubim of the mercy seat as the lungs, or the screen door as the diaphragm separating the clean from the unclean?
The details are all covered in Weitzel’s new book Creation’s Testimony: His Invisible Attributes Clearly Seen, Understood by the Things that Are Made, published on March 11, 2025. Although these discoveries were the jumping off point for his book, he covers far more than the tabernacle, delving into finding God in all of creation, from the sun, moon and stars to the problems that plague our lives. With Jeffrey’s own personal testimony of leaving his career as a successful sculptor intertwined throughout, the story reveals a world which was itself the first book that God wrote to each one of us.
