GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Jan. 22, 2024 /Standard Newswire/ -- Spared is the gripping story of a young girl's harrowing escape from one of the worst genocides in human history.

Spared: Escaping Genocide in Rwanda and Finding a Home in America – a True Story of Hope and Resilience (Credp House Publishers) is a courageous recounting of the author's mind-blowing experiences during the Rwandan tragedy that resulted in the deaths of over one million people, including her parents and several of her siblings as well as extended family.

Deeply rooted in her unwavering faith in God, Dr. Clementine Msengi's memoir offers readers a rare glimpse into the life and culture of pre-genocide Rwanda.

Her courageous story gives us a glimpse of the horror of the genocide and how she escaped those who massacred her family with the help of unlikely allies and recounts her frightening experiences as a young refugee in the United States.

In the end, Spared highlights Msengi's ultimate success in becoming an American citizen, an award-winning community leader, and a respected academic. The book is a compelling, one-of-a-kind narrative that must not be forgotten.
