ENUMCLAW, Wash., Oct. 18, 2019 /Standard Newswire/ -- A new release that is suitable for young children to senior adults teaches valuable lessons of everyday miracles. Fruit Trees and Tumbleweeds (Redemption Press), book 2 in the Perils and Promises of a Parson's Family series, is based on true events, but classified as Christian fiction.
Set in northern New Mexico bordered by the beautiful San Juan River and colorful Navajo Nations, it tells the story of Luke and Lucy Goodson, who pack up their two young children and their few belongings and follow their dream to Bloomfield, New Mexico, where Luke will build a multi-cultural mission church. With limited funds, unexpected challenges, and comical adventures, their story confirms that miracles still happen. From their two rambunctious children pulling the swing set down on top of them and not receiving a scratch, to the surprise of a shopping cart full of groceries when all they had left to eat was a jar of jelly, Fruit Trees and Tumbleweeds will encourage readers with the ways God provides when one follows His lead.
Fruit Trees and Tumbleweeds, set in years 1958 to 1963, is the continuation of the family saga of Luke and Lucy begun in Perils and Promises of a Parson's Family that chronicles their adventures in pastoring a rural community's mission church in Silver City, Texas. In that book, the small congregation meets in a quaint clapboard schoolhouse and the family lives in the old schoolmaster's cottage next door. The house is filthy and derelict from disuse with no indoor plumbing, and a rancid cistern for water, Lucy despairs, wondering how she will care for her children's needs or help Luke serve his new congregation. But God has bigger plans than she can see, and even in these circumstances, her little family will not fall from his hand.
Based on actual events, Fruit Trees and Tumbleweeds, book two in the series Perils and Promises of a Parson's Family, is written by D.A. Sharron who tells her family's true story of learning to trust God in all circumstances.
