LOS ANGELES, Mar. 11 /Standard Newswire/ -- Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world's largest religious network and leading provider of faith and family programming, announced that it has signed an affiliation agreement with Comcast, the nation's leading provider of entertainment, information, and communication products and services, allowing TBN to pursue carriage directly with Comcast systems for their faith-and-family channels.
The agreement means that TBN has the right to enter into discussions with Comcast's cable affiliates, which would have access to TBN's flagship network, the top rated faith-and family channel in the nation. The affiliates would also be able to provide their subscribers with TBN's four other digital faith channels: Smile of a Child, TBN's kid's network featuring high quality cartoons, character-based shows, and educational programs for children two to 12 years old; JCTV, the cutting-edge youth network packed with music videos and fast-moving programs for teens and young adults; The Church Channel, TBN's 24-hour network featuring multi-denominational church services; and TBN Enlace USA, America's premier Spanish-language faith network.
In addition, the affiliates would have access to TBN-HD, the first faith-based channel totally dedicated to high definition programming, as well as TBN Video-on-Demand, exclusive content featuring some of the most popular programs that have aired on all of TBN's networks.
Paul Crouch Jr., TBN's Vice President of Administration, noted that for over 35 years TBN has been blazing the trail for religious and faith-based broadcasting. "This agreement has the outstanding potential of giving Comcast subscribers the broadest range of faith and family-friendly viewing options in the cable industry," he said.
Bob Higley, TBN's Vice President for Cable and Satellite Relations, pointed out that TBN has consistently stayed on the cutting edge by adding and maintaining high-quality channels that appeal to a wide range of cable subscribers. "We're proud to be providing Comcast affiliates with the opportunity to bring their subscribers the best faith and family channels and programming available in any market," said Higley.
