DENVER, Dec. 21, 2023 /Standard Newswire/ -- On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, the Colorado Supreme Court, in a 4-3 vote, removed the leading Republican candidate for president of the United States from the 2024 primary ballot.

Richard Harris, Executive Director of the Truth & Liberty Coalition, released the following statement in response:
"The Colorado Supreme Court had an opportunity to preserve the right of the people of this state to elect a President of their choosing but instead chose to remove that Constitutional right on extremely questionable legal reasoning. Their failure to protect the rights of the people reinforces the perception that a dangerous oligarchy of elitists controls the politics of this nation.
"With no criminal conviction or jury trial of any kind, the Democrat-appointed justices found that Donald Trump 'engaged in insurrection.' The dissenting justices properly criticized the majority for allowing a special election code proceeding in the trial court to substitute for full and fair due process.
"We can only hope and pray that the United States Supreme Court will see this matter for what it really is and affirm the rights of due process and the power of the people to choose their own president."
