CHICAGO, May 18, 2011 /Standard Newswire/ -- Born from her late hours working nights as an RN in a hospital in the suburbs of Chicago, Nurse Jacqueline Stokes has just released a collection of Scriptures set to Classical Music titled "For Your Healing."
Stokes had a problem. She struggled to stay awake while working long, night hours at the hospital. She wasn't the only one. A "notice" from hospital administrators went out to the entire nursing staffing advising them that nurses who were caught sleeping would be terminated.
"Out of concern, I asked the Lord to help me stay awake, so that I would not lose my job," relates Stokes. "The Holy Spirit directed me to write Scriptures on pieces of paper and give them out to patients. I didn't dare question the leading of the Holy Spirit! After all, I needed to stay employed."
Out of obedience, Stokes did as she felt led. She began to pray over and search for Scriptures that would be relevant to the individual situations each patient was experiencing. This task of sharing scriptures with patients continued for months, and began to bring joy to her patients while making the long and exhausting hours worthwhile. Gradually, she began compiling the Scriptures based on the medical conditions of her patients. After collecting more than 30 Scriptures, Stokes felt led to record them over a music bed of Classical music, and to make them available on CD or for Digital Download. The resulting album is a collection of Scriptures that address a wide variety of health and healing concerns including Abdominal, Arthritis, Barrenness, Bones, Cancer, Headaches/Migraines, Ulcers/Wounds and many more. The album features 36 Scriptures birthed from Stokes' experiences working with hospital patients.
Truly living out the Scripture that says "faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ" (Romans 10:17, ESV) Jacqueline Stokes is excited to extend her Scripture ministry beyond the hospital walls. "For Your Healing" is now available through cdbaby at www.cdbaby.com/cd/jdstokes on CD or for Digital Down load.
