HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Feb. 27, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — When two motion picture actors write letters, it must be deep. Perhaps it can be said that Charlton Heston and Jim Linzey made an impact on America and the world through not only the media, performing arts, and entertainment, but also through their communications with each other about 30 years ago. What follows is based on an interview with Jim.

Sciano: “Did you and Charlton Heston make plans to impact America or simply discuss concerns? If so, what can you tell us about your discussions and letters between you and Charlton Heston in 1997?”

Linzey: “I am not at liberty to reveal what Charlton shared with me, because it was confidential. Maybe one day I will disclose everything I said. I will tell you this: I am nearly done with what I said I would do to bring renewal to the church with God’s help and help America get on the right track. I am referring to media ministry, making a spiritual impact in the performing arts and entertainment, Bible work, and through relational evangelism of non-Christians in the performing arts and entertainment and political arenas. I believe that Charlton had a tremendous impact in these arenas also, bringing lasting results. Generally, my perspective is that we discussed significant ways to preserve American traditional values in working with key people in these industries. It would be great if Charlton were with us to see how America is being restored to its Constitutional foundation after all these years of his and my hard work.

Sciano: “How did you and Charlton Heston meet? What ‘clicked’ that led to shared written correspondence? Did you meet in person?”

Linzey: “I have met many celebrities and VIPs. So it is no coincident that we communicated. Honestly, I sought him out. I believe that Charlton reciprocated due to his respect for me as a military chaplain who embraced the motion picture, arts, and entertainment fields, and because I shared his concern for the spirituality of America and the preservation of American values. We could not meet in person due to the miles between us when we were communicating.”

Sciano: “Was this a one-time discussion? How many letters were written? What was the duration in which you wrote letters?”

Linzey: “We’re talking about nearly 30 years ago. I have the correspondence, which the military packed away somewhere, but as I recall, there were a number of letters through the course of several months. It was no accident that I got a book deal, had worldwide television and radio programs called 'Operation Freedom,' talked about spirituality in a nationally televised CBS interview, landed a role as a military chaplain in the major feature motion picture, Iniquity, was invited to write two devotionals for the motion picture Indivisible by the executive producer of that motion picture, and wrote the United States Space Force Hymn: “Creator of the Universe.” I regret that Charlton Heston had passed away before some of these successes came to fruition. Charlton and I helped Ronald Reagan get into office. Charlton did what he did. I answered phones, walked precincts, and went to rallies. Reagan then helped prepare Donald Trump to become president, which occurred after Reagan and Heston passed away. I then came along to be the first minister to endorse Donald Trump for president and was a surrogate for Trump in engaging in media interviews on his behalf. The Republican Party kept tabs on me and invited me when Trump stepped up to the plate. Do you think, for a moment, that these were mere coincidences?

Sciano: “Wow! That’s really deep! What was your opinion of Charlton’s spirituality? Was it real?”

Linzey: Of course! Charlton’s life and example speak for him. It was not an act. My opinion is that he was an exemplary Christian of the Anglican tradition, who was deeply committed to his beliefs and relationship with God. I believe he backed up his deep faith with excellent works to help people. He suffered from Alzheimer’s and passed away at 84 years of age, holding onto his deeply rooted spiritual convictions. You know, when people suffer like that, their mental faculties and thinking processes are intact much more than you realize. They just cannot communicate in their usual manner.

Sciano: “You and Charlton appear to have been involved in many wonderful ventures behind the scenes and in the public eye to help save America, such as propagating the Gospel through film, television, and radio; supporting biblical gun rights for the preservation of freedom; and supporting traditional conservative presidential candidates. Thank you for what you have done and shared with us.”

Charlton starred in Bible roles, such as The Ten Commandments and The Greatest Story Ever Told. He read Scripture in a video about the Bible, and served as the president of the National Rifle Association for five terms. He and Jim were both politically active in the Republican Party and supported Ronald Reagan. Additionally, Jim continued to worked with the Republican Party in helping Donald J. Trump in the 2016, 2020, and 2024 presidential elections.
