ECFA Spring Forum Offers Nonprofits Training to Enhance Governance, Fiscal Oversight, Resource-raising

WINCHESTER, Va., Jan. 30, 2012 /Standard Newswire/ -- Registration is open at www.ecfa.org/Forums.aspx for the Spring Nonprofit Forum, a three-day series of workshops presented by ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) March 13-15 in the greater Dallas area. Forum topics will address governance, financial oversight and resource-raising for faith-based organizations -- vital topics to enhance the operations of any parachurch group.
 
Forum sessions "Nine Governance Essentials for Nonprofits," "Six Financial Oversight Strategies for Nonprofits" and "Four Key Resource-raising Principles" will be held 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at The Hope Center, 2001 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas.

Speaking at this forum will be Michael Batts, chairman of the Commission on Accountability and Policy for Religious Organizations, formed following a staff report issued in January 2011 by U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) that focused on the financial practices of six high-profile media-based Christian ministries.
