MADISON, Wis., Oct. 17, 2019 /Standard Newswire/ -- The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) finally said transgender track and field athletes must lower their testosterone levels to 5 nanomoles instead of the previous standard of 10.
Months before, intersex athletes were told they must keep their levels under 5 nanomoles for the 800 meters through the mile run, but not for other track and field events.
As a result, 800 meters champion Caster Semenya was told she could not compete at the recent World Championships. All of the women's 800 meters medal winners at the 2016 Olympics in Rio were intersex athletes.
Steve McConkey operates 4 Winds Christian Athletics, a Madison, Wisconsin worldwide ministry that stands up for Christian athletes.
"We have been fighting the International Olympic Committee since 2003," states McConkey. "We are pleased with the IAAF decision, but would like to see transgenders eliminated altogether because of physiological advantages that cannot be eliminated by hormone therapy.
"As an adviser to hundreds of Christian athletes, we are getting reports of unfair advantages that transgenders have over women. Unlike international competition, the NCAA allows men to compete as women without adequate tests. High schools may soon adopt the NCAA policies that are insufficient. Something has to be done at the collegiate and high school levels. Plus, the moral problems of girls having to shower with transgenders."
In 2003, McConkey started fighting against the International Olympic Committee for allowing transgenders in the Olympics. He was the only one who stood against this publicly.
From there, the transgender movement spread to state high schools, the NCAA, NFL, NBA, MLB, and the military. Steve has fought this LGBT agenda every step of the way.
McConkey tried to sue the International Olympic Committee before the 2016 Olympics in Rio. He was concerned that intersex athletes would sweep the 800 meters. That is exactly what happened. McConkey was told he did not have a case because he did not have a vested interest in the race.
