ORANGE BEACH, Ala., Aug. 26, 2019 /Standard Newswire/ -- Columbia Southern University (CSU) recently crafted a special combined graduate program option with Master's International University of Divinity (MIUD) that provides ministerial and business training to MIUD students.
"We are pioneering a totally new concept in Christian ministry education," said MIUD President Dennis Frey, who holds doctorates in theology and business administration. "For the first time, our students will be able to enroll in a graduate program that provides the best of theological training with the best of business training in four areas that are common to individuals serving in bi-vocational ministry."
Through the program, MIUD, allows its students to complete 23 MIUD credit hours and then earn 12 credit hours with CSU via its four graduate certificate programs: health care management, finance, project management and human resource management.
"This program offers a unique pairing for MIUD students who are seeking to enhance their business and ministry skills. We think the CSU courses will also give MIUD students a strong basis for each discipline and hope they will continue with us to earn a degree," said Joe Manjone, Ph.D., assistant provost of CSU's Special Programs.
"We worked on this concept for more than two years," explained Frey. "Deciding on the best university to provide the business-related curriculum was based on two factors. First, we wanted to work with a known partner. We have been Learning Partners with CSU for many years. Second, we wanted to give our students the opportunity to learn from the best, and CSU is that - the best!"
Students will earn a degree from MIUD and a graduate certificate from CSU. With a focus on excellence in customer service and low-cost tuition, CSU offers doctorate, graduate and undergraduate degree programs to adult learners. The program is currently active and MIUD students can enroll now.
