BOSTON, Aug. 14, 2025 /Standard Newswire/ — Edify, a leading nonprofit organization transforming Christ-centered education in developing countries, is announcing the expansion of its operations in Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation. With the addition of Nigeria, Edify now operates in sixteen countries, supporting its commitment to improving and expanding sustainable Christ-centered education globally.

Nigeria is home to many low-fee private schools, crucial in providing education to underserved communities. Of the estimated 80,000 low-fee schools nationwide, approximately 40,140 are Christ-centered low-fee private schools, representing a vital segment for Edify's mission.

Having worked closely with the Association for Formidable Education Development (AFED) to connect with local educators, Edify has already established a strong network of schools in Nigeria. Since piloting its operations in Nigeria, the organization has successfully trained thousands of school leaders, equipping them with the skills and resources necessary to enhance Christ-centered education. Edify currently operates within three Nigerian states and partners with over 2,000 schools. The expansion will also involve forging new partnerships with local lending partners and community leaders to ensure a sustainable and relevant approach to Edify’s work.

This expansion marks a pivotal moment for Edify's presence in West Africa. The organization has set an ambitious target to reach 10,000 Nigerian partner schools within three years, significantly broadening its reach and impact across West Africa. This growth will expand Edify’s proven model, which focuses on three key pillars:

• Training: to equip school leaders to develop Christ-centered and sustainable schools

• Loan Capital: to expand and improve school facilities

• Education Technology: to enhance learning outcomes and employability

Godwin Fiagbor, Edify’s Vice President of West Africa, shares, “I haven't seen such a passionate and energetic group of school proprietors who are motivated to change the paradigm of their education to provide quality Christ-centered education that will transform the next generation, like in Nigeria. God has opened the door for Edify to operate in Nigeria, our sixteenth country. I am thrilled that we will work together to shape a brighter future for students, schools, and communities to help bring about a Flourishing Godly Nation.”
