Official Statement from Charismatic Episcopal Church for Life: America's Vote to Protect Infanticide

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Feb. 26, 2019 /Standard Newswire/ -- Last night's vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act reveals the Democratic Party's overwhelming and unswerving devotion to the abortion lobby and the killing of innocent children. This legislation did not place a single restriction on abortion. Instead, it created a protection for a child born alive during an abortion which would require a doctor to give the same life-saving care provided to any other infant patient. It also barred prosecution of mothers from any violation listed in the Act, protecting children and women.
The fact that 44 Senators (42 of them Democrats) were unwilling to secure even this protection for a born child shows that they have sided with the likes of convicted serial killer and abortionist Kermit Gosnell, who killed countless infants after they were born alive and left on a cold, filthy table hours before their horrific death. These 44 Senators have sided with the likes of abortionist Douglas Karpen, whose former employees testified to him "twisting [infants'] heads off their necks with his own bare hands."
To call this bill an attack on women's health, as Senators like Jeanne Shaheen (D., N.H.) have, is to ignore the documented violence and carnage that surrounds the abortion industry, late-term abortions, and the so-called doctors who participate in them. "Doctors" like Gosnell and Karpen.
Fr. Terry Gensemer, Director of Charismatic Episcopal Church For Life, said, "America is considered the most influential leader of the free world. If we, as that leader, can promote the most barbaric and horrendous act possibly done to another human being, then we need to seriously consider where we are as a civilization, and where we are headed."
Patriarch Craig W. Bates of the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church stated, "The fact that the Born Alive Act did not pass is appalling! That members of the Senate can even consider infanticide as acceptable says that America is not only in extreme moral decline, but has embraced evil as good. The murder of a born child is a rejection of the sanctity and dignity of life given by God. It is, at its very core, evil and a gateway to the depersonalization of 'unwanted,' 'handicapped' or 'burdensome' persons and their eventual execution. The Church must be clear: It will protect all human life from conception to natural death and not remain silent but be light in the midst of darkness."
As we move quickly towards an election year, citizens should remember well the names of these Senators who refused to acknowledge even the humanity of a born child, and who will never acknowledge the humanity of a child in the womb.
Sarah Howell of CEC For Life adds, "No matter which party voters belong to, moral citizens cannot vote for candidates who are willing to protect doctors engaging in infanticide over a newborn baby struggling to live. That is not guiding America or creating sound law, as Senators should do; it is murdering our most defenseless citizens and protecting their killers."
