WASHINGTON, Dec. 19, 2022 /Standard Newswire/ -- The Christian Defense Coalition to share the Christmas message and celebrate religious freedom at the Capitol Christmas Tree.
The group will be gathering at the Capitol Tree on Tuesday, December 20, at 12:00 PM. The Capitol Christmas Tree is located on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol.
The Christian Defense Coalition will be singing Christmas Carols, reading the Christmas story and praying for God's blessings over the members of Congress and our nation. There will also be bringing a small nativity display.
Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Washington, D.C. based Christian Defense Coalition, states;
- "We are gathering at the Capitol Christmas Tree to share the powerful message of Christmas. That message is one of hope and love which is echoed through the angelic proclamation in Luke 2:14 at Christ's birth; 'Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!'
"We will be praying for God to bring peace, unity and healing to America during these very challenging times.
"Our gathering at the Capitol Christmas Tree will also be a powerful way to express our religious freedom in the public square. Sadly, our nation is seeing an erosion of basic First Amendment freedoms. As we gather around the Capitol Christmas Tree, we are making clear statement, that if can publicly celebrate Christmas at the United States Capitol, you can freely celebrate it anywhere in America."
