ENUMCLAW, Wash., Oct. 24, 2011 /Standard Newswire/ -- WinePress Publishing is pleased to announce the ebook release of Julie Surface Johnson's 2008 book "Over Coffee (We Shared Our Secrets)".
"Given current abortion rates, it is estimated that 35 percent of American women will have an abortion by age 45," says Sydna A. Massé in her article "The Repeat Abortion Factor." "It is staggering to comprehend that so many millions have made this choice and never admit it to anyone." Studies reveal that silence has a price. A study found in the 2011 British Journal of Psychiatry revealed that post-abortive women experienced an 81% increase in their risk of mental health problems. Massé points out that "Since abortion is rarely discussed, few connect their pain to a past abortion." While many try to avoid the issue, women are suffering an undeniable agony that longs for healing.
"Over Coffee (We Shared Our Secrets)", a compelling novel, explores the hearts of six women of various ages and backgrounds who meet with one thing in common -- a need to heal from the pain of past choices. In her many years of involvement with pregnancy care centers, author Julie Surface Johnson personally counseled hundreds of hurting women with unplanned pregnancies, some of whom chose abortion. Many who chose abortion later returned, broken-hearted, to the pregnancy center where they found healing in post-abortion recovery support groups.
"It's impossible to experience freedom and healing without working through the guilt that haunts so many post-abortive women," Johnson says.
"Over Coffee (We Shared Our Secrets)" is a story of women who are attempting to do just that. Now available in eBook form, Johnson hopes "Over Coffee (We Shared Our Secrets)" will encourage women still struggling with past abortion choices to seek the healing that they desperately need.
