WASHINGTON, Dec. 4 /Standard Newswire/ -- NAB announced today that Christina Vergara has joined the NAB Conventions and Business Operations department as director of convention education. Vergara will work with NAB's educational partners on the execution of all conference programming related to the NAB Show. She joins NAB from the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE).
"Christina is a great addition to the NAB Show team," said NAB Executive Vice President of Conventions and Business Operations Chris Brown. "She has a depth of understanding and connection to the world of entertainment content and content players that will pay immediate dividends in helping us build a show conference program that reflects the leading edge in multiplatform content delivery."
Prior to joining NAB, Vergara spent 15 years with NATPE, working directly with the president on annual conference programs and overseeing speaker management for over 50 educational panels and sessions. Additionally, Vergara co-founded, programmed and produced the annual LATV Fest, expanding the TV Festival to a three-day event with nearly 60 educational sessions. She also managed membership activities, including recruiting, retention and member service development, and assisted with the coordination of the Educational Foundation's activities and programs.
NAB Show organizers also announced that Bob Sitrick, formerly senior vice president of live events and special production services at Discovery U.S. Networks, will serve as executive producer for the NAB Show Content Theater. The Content Theater showcases the most innovative cinema, television, online and mobile filmed entertainment and examines how it was created using new tools and technologies found on the show floor.
Sitrick has over 30 years of experience in live television production and operations. Sitrick spent 11 years at Discovery U.S. Networks, managing more than 50 live television shows and over 150 live events. In July, Sitrick left Discovery to form Bob Sitrick Productions, a consulting company managing live productions, remote and expedition productions and live events.
