WARRENTON, Mo., March 24, 2020 /Standard Newswire/ -- Child Evangelism Fellowship operates over 99,000 after-school clubs around the world. GOOD NEWS CLUBS feature Bible teaching, music, games and snacks for children once a week. When schools and churches closed for weeks in South Korea, a plea went to CEF International Headquarters in Missouri for help with an alternative club format. Staff wrote a manual and tested ZOOM and EZ TALKS platforms. The program is being launched all over the world where there is internet. CEF Regional Directors are having the manual translated into many languages.
Good News Club (GNC) teachers now have an easy way to set up a club by sending parents a link so their child can join at the regular time. "While so many children are distressed and bored due to school closures, meeting with their GNC teacher and friends is more important than ever." says Fred Pry, Assistant Vice-President of USA Ministries. The new format will also help some areas where families are in danger of persecution for religious gatherings.
The online class is managed by a volunteer so the teacher can focus on teaching. Children are muted and unmuted as needed, and they can raise their hand to be recognized. They can sing together and even play some games.
Another resource in high demand is CEF booklet "Do You Wonder Why?" It speaks directly to children about the emotions they experience due to natural disasters, death of loved ones, crime towards someone they know, and other tragedy. It answers hard questions like, "Does God know and care about me?" "Why do so many bad things happen in the world?" and "How could God allow this to happen?" It guides the child in how to: get through terrible circumstances, become part of God's family, and receive God's comfort.
This time-tested downloadable resource is available in PDF and video at www.cefonline.com/why. Copies may also be purchased in bulk from www.CEFPress.com. Millions of the "Do You Wonder Why?" booklets have been distributed around the US and the world and translated into many languages.
