DUNWOODY, Ga., March 26, 2021 /Standard Newswire/ -- How did a retired management consultant and a former editor for the federal government become co-authors of a Christian book when they hadn't had contact for more than 55 years? It was the Lord—and Facebook! Steve White and Joyce Hill graduated from the same small high school in Maryland in 1965, but they never really knew each other. In 2020 they became Facebook friends. At the time, Steve had an idea for a book based on a list of toxic beliefs that he had observed in people over the years. He shared the idea with Joyce, and she agreed to be co-author of The God I Know.
Describing the vision for the book, the authors explain, "Christianity is not about religion; it's about a relationship. God wants to have a personal relationship with you and made the relationship possible through the death of His Son Jesus on the cross. But you can't have a relationship with someone you don't know." So the authors decided, "Let's just tell people about the God we know! Maybe if they know more about God's character, attitude, personality, and compassion, they will be encouraged to have a relationship with Him too!"
Kathy Bowman, Director of Music and Ministries, of The National Christian Choir, and Host of Psalm 95 Radio Broadcast shares, "The God I Know and the Relationship We Need is an insightful collection of personal essays regarding the authors' faith journeys, which help answer questions that believers as well as non-believers may struggle with." Another reader agrees, "If you're missing a relationship with your Creator, you'll find it in The God I Know."
The God I Know, by Steve White and Joyce Hill (2021), 200 pages, PB, $14.99, https://booksabouthim.com ISBN: 978-1-951561-68-0, Published by River Birch Press, Distributed by Ingram and Amazon.com.
