WASHINGTON, Nov. 16 /Standard Newswire/ -- John Bolton should be confirmed as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Concerned Women for America told Senators in a letter today. CWA sent a letter to each U.S. Senator outlining the Ambassador’s outstanding credentials and accomplishments, all of which should lend support for a speedy and unanimous confirmation.
Ambassador Bolton’s background and credentials point to the fact that he is eminently qualified to represent America at the United Nations. Mr. Bolton has a long record of accomplishments that includes acting as a central figure in crisis mediation and multiple key arms control agreements, both as former Assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations and Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security. He was also the lead U.S. negotiator in the creation of the G-8 partnership against the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
CWA President Wendy Wright said, “As Acting Ambassador to the U.N. for the past fifteen months, Mr. Bolton has proven he has the diplomatic skills for the job. Ambassador Bolton’s impeccable credentials, his formidable grasp of diplomatic issues of the day and his record of accomplishment as Acting Ambassador leave no room for doubt that he is the right man for the job. Holding up his nomination harms the United States. CWA joins the throng of experts and officials who support Mr. Bolton’s nomination and urges the Senate to swiftly confirm John Bolton as Ambassador to the United Nations.”
