Polygamy, Polyamory and Same-Sex 'Marriage' to be Opposed at Rally on Saturday

Contact: Len Deo, 973-781-1414; Debbie Hamilton, 215-815-7716

MONMOUTH, New Jersey, June 7 /Standard Newswire/ -- A local marriage rally opposing efforts by radical fringe groups such as polygamists and polyamorists, together with homosexuals, to redefine marriage, is taking place on Saturday, June 9 at the Monmouth Battlefield Park located at 347 Freehold Road in Manalapan, NJ, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. Residents of Manalapan and surrounding communities in New Jersey who oppose these fringe group's efforts are invited to attend. Previous rallies have had upwards of 1,000 people in attendance. Security will be present although no invitations have been extended to fringe group members to attend this particular rally.

As evidenced by some of the most progressive and intelligent scholars on America's law campuses, attempts by homosexual activists to redefine marriage are leading the crusade for other special interest groups who believe the definition of marriage should be subject to change with current trends and sympathies, as well. Len Deo, president of the New Jersey Family Policy Council, stated that, "Growing movements by polyamorists and polygamists to further redefine marriage and family are finding momentum as they follow the efforts of homosexual activists, but polls and research show that since the majority of Americans will only accept marriage between one man and one woman, these groups' efforts will ultimately be deemed useless."

Homosexual activists continue to work incrementally toward a complete eradication of traditional marriage law in New Jersey. Currently, civil unions are now the law in New Jersey, but same-sex "marriage" advocates have promised to move legislation in the next two years that will upgrade civil unions to full "marriage." If successful, such changes will by necessity lead to broader changes, with inclusions of polyamory and polygamy not far behind.

The day's events will include marriage presentations from mega churches and organizations in the area: Pastor Walter Healy with Grace and Peace Church in Toms River; Pastor Lloyd Pulley with Calvary Old Bridge, and Elder Jim Hart of the Abundant Life Family Worship Church, plus the New Jersey Pastors Association, Knights of Columbus and the New Jersey Family Policy Council.

Details of the activities of the last year and the coming year and an update on the results of the New Jersey Statewide Official Clergy Petition drive will also be presented. For more information visit www.njfpc.org or call 1-800-FAMILY-1.
