HAITI, Feb. 2 /Standard Newswire/ -- Sherry Burnette, founder of Haiti's Love A Child Ministries with husband Bobby, has kept an online journal on the ministry's website for years. Prior to the massive earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12th, this journal chronicled the daily life of the staff and children of Love A Child's orphanage, and of the various projects the ministry has launched -- a tilapia fish farm, a radio station on a remote mountainside, feeding programs, and the Jesus Healing Center medical facility. Since the earthquake, the journal has become a unique, first-person window into the aftermath and the struggle to survive.
The daily updates are equal parts harrowing and miraculous - from desperately digging out friends and family, to distributing food and clothes in the destroyed streets of Port au Prince, to becoming a post-op recovery station for the USS Comfort hospital ship. These entries are not filtered news accounts; they are deeply personal experiences from people who are living it, and surviving each day with faith and determination.
