Churches Offer Easter Drive-Through Bible Event
NEWS PROVIDED BY
Group Publishing
April 6, 2020

LOVELAND, Colo., April 6, 2020 /Standard Newswire/ -- Churches across the country, for the first time ever, will lock their doors on Easter, the biggest day of the church year. It's a reality of the coronavirus lockdown. But in 100 communities, those looking for an Easter service will find a special drive-through Easter experience in church parking lots.

These churches are part of a nationwide effort to physically deliver the story of Jesus' Resurrection with an "Easter Bible Drive-Through." Maintaining social distancing, citizens will be invited to drive to the church, where volunteers will place deluxe gift-edition Bibles for easy pick-up.

Patrons will not need to leave their vehicles. And church volunteers will be asked to maintain safe distances, according to organizers.

Each Bible will be already marked with the Easter story, and other passages of hope during times of trouble.

The event is organized nationally by Group Publishing, a leading provider of Christian resources, including the Jesus-Centered Bible. The company donated thousands of copies of this Bible for the Easter drive-through, in coordination with churches from coast to coast.

Thom Schultz, president of Group Publishing, said he was inspired with the Bible drive-through idea after seeing people "seek spiritual guidance during this frightening time." He said, "Then I watched cars lining up for coronavirus tests. And I wondered if we could provide a spiritual vaccination in a similar way. Go to church on Easter. Stay safe. And meet the risen Christ, in scripture, without even leaving your car."

Group Publishing opened this opportunity for churches for a one-day period. The first 100 churches to contact the company became eligible to receive the free Bibles and a guide to run the event.
