"I cannot wait to get started with Sports Spectrum," Forte said. "The way they highlight Christ through the platform of sports aligns perfectly with my God-given purpose in life. I'm a child of God before anything else, so to be able to glorify the Lord in this way and share incredible sports stories and testimonies is the perfect combination for me."
The Sports Spectrum media ministry began in 1985 as a magazine called "SportsFocus," was renamed a few years later, and the magazine continues today as a quarterly publication. In addition, SportsSpectrum.com reaches millions of users every year, and features every episode of the Sports Spectrum Podcast, which was launched in 2017 by longtime ESPN producer Jason Romano. The show can also be found on Apple, Spotify, Amazon, etc.
"Matt is such a great addition to the Sports Spectrum team," said Romano, Sports Spectrum's executive producer. "He's so strong in his faith in Christ and I'm so excited for our listeners to not only hear his wisdom, but experience how he converses with athletes so well. This show is only getting better with Matt as the voice."
