PORTLAND, Ore., April 4, 2019 /Standard Newswire/ -- The feature-length film about the life and work of international evangelist Luis Palau hits theaters tonight, for two days only, April 4 and 6. The film will appear in hundreds of selected theaters throughout the United States and Latin America.
The movie focuses on Palau, an internationally known Christian evangelist, his childhood in Argentina, and his entrance into full-time ministry.
"I've never thought of myself as someone special. I'm just a kid from a cow town in Argentina," Luis Palau said. "Yet God grabbed my heart at a young age and chose to use me to share His Good News in a dramatic way. Now, more than 65 years later, I've had the joy of leading millions of people in public confessions of faith in Jesus, from princesses and presidents to criminals and cynics. This film is the story of that journey. I pray it encourages all to embrace Jesus and trust Him for great things."
The film's release comes at an important time as Palau continues to battle stage IV lung cancer, with which he was diagnosed in 2018, just days before production began on the film.
Palau the Movie features Gastón Pauls, an Argentine actor who plays the title role. It also stars Scott Reeves of "Nashville" fame who plays Ray Stedman, Palau's mentor; and Daniel Roebuck, of "Lost" and "The Fugitive," who portrays Fred Renich, an influential figure in Luis' life.
The film also features music from multi-award-winning artists Matt Redman and Jaci Velasquez, along with top Latin Grammy producer Iván Gutiérrez and celebrated film composer Paul Mills.
