Contact: Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Christian Defense Coalition, 202-547-1735, 540-538-4741 cell

WASHINGTON, Nov. 5 /Standard Newswire/ -- On Sunday, November 5th, at 7:00 P.M., the Christian Defense Coalition will lead a prayer vigil on the lower western plaza of the United States Capitol.

Event Details---

What: Prayer vigil for mid-term elections

When: Sunday, Nov. 5, 7 PM

Where: On the lower western plaza of the United States Capitol

Why: The purpose of the prayer vigil will be to seek God’s blessing, guidance and direction for the most important mid-term elections in many years.

The Coalition will also help organize prayer at the United States Supreme beginning on Tuesday, November 7th, that will continue for 24 hours straight hours through the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban arguments on November 8th.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, comments, “For the past several months, the nation has heard countless political ads and commercials.  Now it is time for the faith community to seek God for His blessing, guidance and direction for these critical mid-term elections and historic Supreme Court cases.  It is important for us to humble ourselves before a sovereign God and cry out for His purposes to be fulfilled.

We do not pray at the Capitol and Supreme Court under the banner of republicans or democrats, or as liberals or conservatives.  Rather, we come as people of faith asking God to heal our nation, protect innocent life and put men and women in office that will honor God and the principles of this nation.”
