NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan. 10 /Standard Newswire/ -- DFID have confirmed their continued funding and commitment to RedR-IHE's Programme in Sudan. The Safety and Security Learning Programme will run from November 2006 to April 2007 with the aim of equipping aid workers in Darfur with the skills and knowledge to better manage safety and security in their organisations.
In doing this RedR-IHE continues its approach of mainstreaming safety and security management within aid agencies as well as within the wider aid community, in order to support aid agencies in Darfur and Khartoum to be better prepared to prevent and/or respond to and manage safety incidents through learning, capacity building and awareness raising.
In addition to its Khartoum office, RedR-IHE plans to establish training teams in two Darfur locations, Nyala/South Darfur and Al Fasher/North Darfur. These two teams would each service the following locations; Nyala, Al Fasher and Al Geneina.
A series of training courses will be delivered in Khartoum and throughout Darfur, targeting both national and international aid workers. The training courses include; Management of Staff Safety Workshops, First Aid Training, Trauma Management Training and Integrated Risk Management.
